Introducing USDP
Sling Money is built to make it possible to send money to almost anyone in the world instantly, at extremely low cost, without having to think about currencies or banking infrastructure.
Sling Money makes this possible by using stablecoins on a blockchain called Solana. Sling Money started out using USDC, a digital dollar made by Circle Internet Financial in the United States.
Today we are switching Sling Money to use a stablecoin called USDP, a digital dollar made by Paxos Trust Company in the United States. Paxos is regulated by the New York Department of Financial Services.
We are making this change for purely operational reasons. It will help us expand into more countries in a cost-efficient way.
The next time you open Sling Money you’ll be prompted to change the stablecoins in your wallet from USDC to USDP. Other than this one step, there will be no changes for you in how Sling Money works or the value of your Sling Wallet.
